My little Ray Bradbury reference- the book was better than the movie.  I recall the first time hearing “A Sound of Thunder” read by Mr. Calkins, my science fiction teacher in high school, he introduced me to some of my favorite stories- one of the best teachers I had in high school… “gulp!” 25 years ago.

So the first arc is finished… what did you think?  I know I still have a lot of work to do, but I do thank all of you who have stuck it out this long.  I’m right now at the San Diego Comic Con and hopefully learning even more.  After finishing around 40 strips I can a least say I took the challenge presented by Kyle Baker in his great book “How to Draw Stupid” – He wrote “To be a cartoonist, you must actually make cartoons.  I bring this up because I’ve met a lot of people who say they want to be cartoonists, but they don’t have any cartoons. Or they have cartoons but they won’t show them to anybody.”  And he goes on for the first chapter.  This inspired me to finally get off my duff and try.  I have cartooned, and been silly enough to not just show them to one or two people but I posted them so the entire world can see them.  Like it or not, I’m here with Cecil, Sue, Tink and who knows who else will crawl out of the woodwork (probably not my in-laws due to threats about Christmas) for the foreseeable future.  This all started off as a way to tap my creativity for the Summer… from an simple idea to embrace my inner geek- thank you Lilly Endowment for giving me this chance- but now you’ve created a monster.
