Well if you couldn’t tell I’m a Trekkie, Trekker, umm… Star Trek Fan.  I remember in High School moving my TV so I could see it while I sat outside watching the Labor Day weekend Star Trek marathon.  I ended up getting fried on one side and could barely move- but it was worth it.  So This week marks the relaunch of Star Trek.  Like other movie franchises before, they are going to start retelling the lives of characters some of us have known all our lives.  I decided that some of the changes may reflect on who is now in charge.  Roddenberry was pretty specific on how his future looked, the stories after his death may have been action packed, but it was definitely a darker future than the one with Bones and Scotty.  What do I think about what I have seen so far?  Sue says I have probably watched the entire film from everything I can find online, but it does look interesting.  Then again, I was excited about Episode 1 until I saw it.  There will be those who will argue (over and over again) that it messes with continuity, that this or that character would never do that.  My question is will it be a good story, with good characters who after 90 minutes I will care about?  If it is, great!  if not, I think I’ll see if I can meet Simon Pegg at the Winchester.
