Yes, I could be an animal hoarder very easily.  I joked about Sue being a cat lady, but I am starting to understand the mentality of those who hoard pets.  Snoop & Midas are definitely kittens, but they are starting to feel much better and come out of their shells (not a problem with Snoop, but Midas has stopped running away all the time) and becoming part of the family.  While we aren’t home all the time and I know they will get attention at the Humane Society there is just this part of me that says I can guarantee that they would have a wonderful life here, and I can’t guarantee that after we return them what will happen.  Fortunately for me since they just arrived without my knowledge, they will end up going back without my knowledge either.  I’m sure if I ask Sue will tell me they “Joined the circus.”  I have been listening for sneezes and I have heard a few so we might have  them for a couple more days, but If you are interested in some wonderful kittens and you are in the Indianapolis area head over to the Hamilton County Humane Society and ask about Snoop & Midas.  It would make me very happy to know they are both in good homes.

Midas takes a break from hiding to relax on the couch... ever vigilant.
Midas is a unique little kitten.  How he got the name “Midas” I don’t have a clue, especially since he is gray.  I could kind of understand if he was a golden color.  Besides that he seems to be dominated by Snoops who is constantly on the prowl and ready for play.  So Midas hides & runs.  I think Midas would do great in a quiet home.  He spent most of Sunday asleep on the couch with me while I was reading quiet time I think he really enjoyed.  Although when given the chance he has been known to pounce.  The other thing that is amusing are the sounds he makes… I don’t think I have heard a normal “meow” he tends to make sounds that remind me of the noises I heard on “Meerkat Manor” back when it was on TV.  Where Snoops has definitely lived up to his name… I have called Midas “Snuffles” and “Brave Little Shakespeare”  then again if you were to adopt this little guy you could call him whatever you want.
Snoops seems to get into everything... a wonderfully adorable kitten trait.
So I come home and we have two kittens (5 month old) both needing some quiet time to recover from an upper respiratory infection.  “Snoops” is basically all kitten and all energy.  A very loving kitten who purrs a lot he seems to attack anything that moves and  we have found a kitten that enjoys all the toys we bought for Hemi.  As he has gotten better he leaps, he climbs, he runs, he’s a kitten.  He has been appropriately named since he is into everything and is always snooping around.  He definitely thinks he is the “alpha kitty” and takes on all comers.  Although I must say he fell sound asleep on me Sunday for a couple hours which was one of those great feelings that makes life worth living.  He would make someone a wonderful pet.
This is pretty much how it happened… I came home from work last week and was greeted by two new kittens… Sue & I had discussed fostering another cat to help out the Humane Society (we’d also talked about buying bikes, kayaks, getting the floors redone, going on a long expensive vacation among other things).  I didn’t realize this was happening until Midas & Snoops (aka Snoop Kitty Kitty) arrived.  They both have an upper respiratory infection which we are treating with medicine for the two weeks they will be visiting.  Hemi is dealing with it as best he can.  Since he is a mature, refined cat and these guys are 5 month old kittens with lots of energy.  I have Sue’s promise that we will be taking these guys back to find forever homes in a week… until then I guess they get a fame by guest starring in My Geek Odyssey.
