It's an Actual Comic!
My latest submission to FTF Geocacher Magazine
A long time ago… I was asked to do a comic strip for FTF Geocacher Magazine. Yes, there is such a beast, and yes I’ve been doing it for over 10 years. The way it works is this- I get an email reminder, I fret over what I might draw, I continue to fret, until something strikes my fancy. I draw it, I color it, I submit it. Sometimes that fretting part takes more time since I don’t geocache as much as I did when I started out. The characters tend to be the same ones I used in my comic when I was doing it regularly. The subject just focuses on things that geocachers might find amusing. Cecil - Evil GeoCaching Monkey tends to be the star. He’d complain in my subconscious if he wasn’t. This time around I actually fretted myself into three ideas. I decided to go with this one, and I will draw the others out later.
To fit this space I did reformat the comic to a vertical alignment the FTF version is in the traditional Horizontal alignment.
I usually start with a lot of text and have to get it to the point where it will fit in the panel. This is not one of my normal characters, so Cecil is already upset with me. As for the subject matter, I own an LPC at my LCS and usually get logs from new cachers informing me that it wasn’t there and they had searched “forever” and couldn’t find it.
