For the record- the grumbling continues as people keep saying it will be announced “soon” they have an inside track… “The Sun’ll come out, tomorrow. bet you’re bottom dollar, they’ll be sun” and the announcement. 🙄
Updated rumor mill: event will have a music theme, so many of the stops will have something to do with music. Ideas like Detroit to New Orleans with stops in Cleveland, Nashville, and Memphis. I wonder if this is in one of those betting apps so we could see the current odds.
Really solid take on how MTTS has morphed from grassroots to SWAG overload. The point about stepping back from leadership while still showing up hits home becuase I've seen similar dynamics in other niche communities. Trading human connection for button distribution feels like missing the forest for the trees.
MTTS will always be about the experience, the travel, the people. As for stuff- everyone is different and many have grown beyond buttons and ducks. For some that may be the only way they can start to be involved and I know from personal experience that’s a good place to begin. It just can be exhausting to keep up year after year.
